The InKind Baking Project started in Philadelphia in January 2017. Prompted by the turmoil of current events and the targeting of various communities, bakers from all over the city volunteered to bake for their neighbors as a sign of welcome, community, and solidarity. As of October 2019, our 590 bakers (and counting) have baked for over 38,000 people, including birthday cakes for families experiencing homelessness, cookies for refugees, cupcakes for ESL classes, muffins for immigration clinics, and more. Our project bakers range from enthusiastic amateur to all-but-professional, and we take requests from both individuals and organizations for donations in-kind and in kindness.
Your donations help us offset the cost of managing this network, each and every month. We are entirely volunteer-run, but in order to manage a volunteer effort of this scale, we rely on meeting space, software, insurance, and supplies to keep things running smoothly.
Your donations help us keep the project equitable. We consider it a core part of our mission and values that everyone be able to participate, regardless of money. For this reason, we maintain a fund to pay for the cost of ingredients and drop-off transportation for any of our volunteers who seeks that reimbursement.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, we are a fiscally sponsored project of CultureTrust Greater Philadelphia , which is a public 501c3 organization recognized by the IRS. Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permissible by law.

Is my donation and credit card info secure?
Yes, the security and confidentiality of your information is our highest priority. We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations, and we will only share personal information if you have given us specific permission to do so.

How do I know that my donation was made successfully?
You will receive an emailed receipt immediately after your donation is submitted and your credit card is processed. Your donation will also show up on your bank or card statement within 1-3 business days.

Do I get a receipt?
Yes, a receipt is sent to your email inbox once your donation is processed. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes. If you select a recurring donation, you will be sent an individual receipt each period when your donation is processed.

Is my donation private?
We will not share or sell a donor's personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.
